What is Swimmer to Coach?
Swimmer to Coach is a platform designed to give newer or developing coaches an inside look into some thought processes and procedures that are implemented in the coaching world today. Although there are numerous resources out there, the mini-book series Swimmer to Coach is a streamlined body of work that connects multiple levels of coaching and methods into one large coherent format. Unfortunately, when a new coach starts coaching, all they have to rely on is what they did as a swimmer, some quick conversations, some potential articles, or generalized books. It takes a long time for coaches to develop a deeper understanding of the in's and out's of coaching. While I believe that developing your own style is important, I also understand that when new coaches start coaching, they immediately begin to effect athletes. As new coaches begin to develop their own philosophy of how they like to structure their workouts and season plans, they can use the Swimmer to Coach program as a resource to provide immediately productive workouts or team processes. The main objective in all that you see is to be a temporary resource while new coaches get their coaching legs under them. This has never been and never will be a program that touts my style of coaching over another. There are dozens of ways to approach coaching and I implore all that read this to explore as many ways as possible.
